Preparing for harvest
The weather conditions have been excellent over the past few weeks and the predictions for this week, the 7th of September, are optimum. The hot days and cool nights provide a temperature variation that is ideal for extracting anthocyanes. The humid night air from the ocean and the nearby estuary allow the grapes to ripen despite the lack of rain recorded over this 2009 summer.

Thomas Duroux and Sabrina Pernet walk throughout the vines to test the fruit's ripeness and understand their potential in order to creat the most perfect interpretation possible during harvest and vinification.
We haven't yet set a date to begin harvesting our Merlots. our Danish pickers are expected to arrive on September 20th, but we may need to start with the early-ripening parcels before they arrive with our own vineyard hands.
